Ollie O'Grady Timeline

1912 - Ollie O' Grady was born in Starks, Louisiana and moved to Orange, Texas

1929 - Graduated from Orange High School, and became a student nurse at Frances Ann Luther Hospital in Orange, Texas

1932 - Graduated as a nurse and affiliated at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston

1942 - Moved back to Orange, Texas and met her husband James.

1951 - She began a 25-year career as a school nurse for Mission CISD

1959 - She was named First Lady of Mission

1976 - She retired from MCISD

1983 - An article appeared in a book called "100 Women of the Rio Grande Valley."

1986 - She died at Mission Municipal Hospital at the age of 74, and Ollie O'Grady Elementary opened its doors.

1987 - She was honored posthumously by the senior class of Mission High School, naming her "Friend of Education."
