About Me:

   My name is Mrs. Serna; I am a Resource and Inclusion teacher. I graduated in 2015 from The University of Texas-Pan American with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education, and in 2021 with a Master's degree in Special Education from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Classroom :

   In my classroom, I strive to make each child feel welcome and accepted. As a resource teacher, I don’t only help my students with academic needs; I also work with social-emotional skills. I help build my student's confidence so that they are able to focus on their strengths. I remind them every day that they are important, strong, unique, special, accepted, and cared for. I remind them that they are able to accomplish anything they are willing to work hard for; the greatest reward is being able to help each one of my students meet their goals and be successful.
